Really Tough Week

12/3/2012
So as y’all can see from the subject of this email this week was a very, very hot week. The sun was out everyday and did not give us a break at all. There was also very little wind this week here in Sao Rouque which is a little rare also. It did rain a few times but it was only at night, which at least made sleeping a lot easier.

But over all this week was a good one. Our investigator Kauê had is baptismal interview and will be baptized this Wednesday. The date was moved up because it is his day off and we want to be able to have his mom be able to see him be baptized. We are going to try and work with his mom and get her baptized as well. But we are really excited for him. This week we taught him the commandments he has to know before baptism, being law of chastity, word of wisdom, Keeping the Sabbath day holy, and tithing. When we taught tithing he seemed to be a little worried about keeping this commandment. But on Sunday after Gospel Principles class he asked us how and where you pay tithing! It was really great. Also with Sunday being testimony meeting he even got up and bore his testimony without us asking him too! It really was sweet. He truly is an elate! But this week really was one of a lot of walking and not a ton happening. A lot of people who we planned on visiting were not able to get to visit.

We did have interviews with our president, which went rather well. He is really happy with the work we are doing here in Sao Roque and says to keep it up. We do have one more baptism also planned for next week on the 15th. The man who has been going to church for 20 years named Elias has finally decided to be baptized! Which is really great as well! We are excited for him and ready to throw him in the water. But other than those two things nothing much else happened. Just had to take a lot of busses in order to do the division we needed to get the baptismal interview for Kauê done which was kinda annoying... But it was a pretty good division. I guess I didn’t really explain before that in order to do a baptismal interview either our zone leader or district leader needs to come to your area to do the interview.

But that is about all that has happened this week. I talked to Pres. Martines about my card but we were unable to get in touch with Visa because of the hour being really early. We will try again on Wednesday when we have a conference for all of the interior of the mission. But it is not a huge deal. We will try again later to get it all figured out. But thanks for all of the love and the support from all of y’all. I do love you all and hope you all have a great week this week.

With love,

Elder William Shelton
