Another Pretty Good Week

9/09/2013

So this week was good again and again one where we did a whole lot of running around. We got a ton of work to do and hopefully in the next coming up weeks we will be able to do splits with the members so that we can visit more people with more frequency so that we can have even more baptisms. But this week we had three confirmations and two baptisms. The best thing about these baptisms is that they are true converts to the church and I know that they will truly help the church grow here in Cachoeirinha and Parada Pinto. One of them is a very special woman called Fernanda. She has been investigating the church for the past 3 months and has been truly praying and searching for an answer. Last night we visited her and she told us why she started to search the church. A few years ago she had a dream of her father who had passed away. And in her dream she was in a dark room full of people covered in mud. In the room was her father. She asked him if he had seen God and he said no, but there were white lights above that he saw. He was crying but the he got very, very happy and he said that one of the lights was coming to minister to him. Yesterday she told us how determined she is to have her father baptized in the temple so that he can receive these ordinances needed for our salvation. The more time I am on my mission the more I can see how this is truly the work of our Lord and God. He knows His children and those that have already gone are working and praying as well that their decendents can be baptized so that their work can be done for them in the temple. This truly is the Lords work and nothing will stop it. I love this gospel and all that there is about it. I can see how truly it brings people into the light and out of the darkness put upon people by false prophets and priests. But that is what has been going on with me. I love you all and hope that you all have a great week this week!

With love,

Elder William Shelton

Oh so the new fashion fad here in Sao Paulo is to wear shirts and shorts with the American flag design on it. It is kinda funny. Last year it was the English flag.
